Edo Election 2024: APC’s Senator Monday Okpebholo Leads in Governorship Race**
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, is currently ahead in the Edo State governorship election.
The election, which took place on Saturday across the South-south state, has seen a significant lead for the APC candidate. As of Sunday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced results from 16 out of the 18 Local Government Areas (LGAs).

So far, Okpebholo has secured 244,549 votes, leading his closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 195,954 votes. Olumide Akpata, the Labour Party (LP) candidate, trails with 13,348 votes.
INEC has declared a three-hour break to await the results from the final two LGAs. The collation process is set to resume at 5 p.m., and the final results are expected soon.
