STAFF VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT INTO COLLEGE OF NURSING SCIENCES

Pursuant to the approval by His Excellency, the Governor of Edo State for appointment of Principal Officers and Staff of the Edo State College of Nursing Sciences, Km7 Sapele Road by Limit Road, Benin City. Applications are hereby invited from qualified candidates to fill the following positions in Edo State College of Nursing Sciences:

1. Provost

2. Registrar

3. Bursar

4. Librarian

5. Head of Department Nursing

6. Head of Department Midwifery

7. Head of Department General Studies

8. Nurse Educators

9. Midwife Educators 10. Clinical Instructors

11. Preceptors

12. Hostel Manager

13. Director of Works

14. Admin Officer

REQUIREMENTS for Edo State College Of Nursing Sciences Massive Recruitment

Applicants shall be professionals in the aforementioned fields and duly certified and/or registered by their regulatory bodies to practice in such specialties and holders of current practicing License (s).

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE POSITIONS

1. THE PROVOST

The Provost shall possess the following qualifications:

1. . Must be registered and licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) to practice
2. . Must have a first degree in Nursing and a Masters’ degree. Possession of a PhD would be an added advantage.
3. A teaching qualification such as Diploma in Nursing Education (DNE), Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), Post Graduate Diploma in Nursing Education (PGDNE), Professional Diploma in Education (PDE), Masters in
4. Education (MED), etc. Must be registered with the NMCN as an educator
5. • Minimum of 10 years teaching experience including Leadership/Management (7 years for candidates with a PhD) . Must be computer literate

2. REGISTRAR:

The Registrar shall possess the following qualifications:

1. A good (Honours) Degree plus fifteen (15) years post qualification relevant administrative experience in university, college or comparable institution, with a minimum of five (5) years at the Management level;
2. Possess a relevant higher degree or postgraduate professional qualification
3. in appropriate field(s);
4. Must be competent in the use of ICT for management services;
5. Membership of Association of Nigerian Universities Professional Administrators [ANUPA] and relevant professional associations is an added advantage.
6. Must be computer literate

3. BURSAR

The Bursar shall possess the following qualifications:

1. Must be a professional accountant with a relevant accounting professional  qualification such as ICAN, ANAN, ACCA, etc. 
2. Must have a first degree or equivalent in Accounting, Banking and Finance,  Economics or other social sciences 
3. Possession of a Masters’ Degree would be an added advantage
4. Minimum of 10 years cognate experience including 5 years in management
5. role, preferably in an academic institution
6. Must be computer literate.

4. LIBRARIAN

The Librarian shall possess the following qualifications:

1. . Candidates should be holders of Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Library Sciences from recognized universities with at least five (5) years teaching,
2. research and administrative experience in recognized college/schools. • Associateship or Fellowship of a recognised institute of Librarians.
3. Applicants must be computer literate with cognate experience in e-library.

5. HEAD OF DEPARTMENT, NURSING

The Head of Department, Nursing shall possess the following qualifications:

1. . Must be registered and licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council Nigeria (NMCN) to practice
2. Must have a first degree in Nursing and a Masters degree. . Must have a teaching qualification such as Diploma in Nursing Education (DNE), Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE). Post Graduate Diploma in Nursing Education (PGDNE) and Professional Diploma in Education (PDE), Masters in Education. (MED).
3. Must be registered with the NMCN as an educator  Specialty Certification will be an added advantage
4. A minimum of six (6) years teaching experience, leadership and management experience shall be an advantage.
5. Must be computer literate

6. HEAD OF DEPARTMENT, MIDWIFERY

The Head of Department, Midwifery shall possess the following qualifications:

1. Must be registered and licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) to practice
2. Must have a first degree in Nursing and a Masters’ degree.
3. Must have a teaching qualification such as Diploma in Nursing Education  (DNE), Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE). Post Graduate Diploma in Nursing Education (PGDNE) and Professional Diploma in Education (PDE), Masters in Education. (MED).
4. . Must be registered with the NMCN as an educator Specialty Certification will be an added advantage,
5. A minimum of six (6) years teaching experience, leadership and management experience shall be an advantage Must be computer literate.

7. GENERAL STUDIES (English, Physics, Chemistry, ICT, Nutrition,

Microbiology, Anatomy, Physiology, Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, Sociology / Psychology, Biostatistics & Research, Healthcare Finance)

The lecturers in general studies shall possess the following qualifications;

1. Must have a relevant first degree in their subject area and a Masters’ degree is an advantage.
2. A minimum of three (3) years teaching experience
3. Must be computer literate

8. NURSE EDUCATORS

The Nurse Educator must possess the following qualifications:

1. Must be registered and licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) to practice .
2. Must have a first degree in Nursing
3. A Masters’ degree and specialties such as anesthetics, pediatrics, mental health, public health, etc. will be an added advantage
4. Must have a teaching qualification such as Diploma in Nursing Education (DNE), Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE). Post Graduate Diploma in Nursing Education (PGDNE) and Professional Diploma in Education (PDE), Masters in Education. (MED).
5. Must be registered with the NMCN as an educator
6. A minimum of three (3) Years teaching experience
7. Must be computer literate

9. MIDWIFE EDUCATORS

The Midwife Educator must possess the following qualifications:

1. Must be registered and licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Nigeria (NMCN) to practice
2. Must have a first degree in Nursing.
3. A Masters degree and spectaities such as anestheres, semates, mental health, public health, etc. will be added advantage.
4. Must have a teaching qualification such as Diploma in Nursing Education (DE), Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE). Pust Graduate Diploma in Nursing Education (PGONE) and Professional Dipium in Education Masters in duration MED
5.  Must be registered with the NMCN an an educator
6. A minimum of three (3) Years teaching experience
7.  Must be computer literate.

10. CLINICAL INSTRUCTORS

1. Must be registered and licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of
   Nigeria (NMCN) to practice
2. Must have a first degree in Nursing
3. A Masters’ degree and specialties such as anaesthetics, paediatrics, mental
   health, public health, etc will be an added advantage
4. A minimum of five (5) Years clinical experience
5. Must be computer literate

11. PRECEPTORS

1. Must be registered and licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of
   Nigeria (NMCN) to practice
2.  Must have a first degree in Nursing
3. A Masters’ degree and specialties such as anaesthetics, paediatrics, mental
   health, public health, etc will be an added advantage
4. A minimum of five (5) Years clinical experience
5.  Must be computer literate

12. HOSTEL MANAGER

1. Must be registered and licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of
   Nigeria (NMCN) to practice
2. A minimum of ten (10) Years clinical experience
3.  Leadership cognate experience shall be an advantage
4.  Must be computer literate

13. DIRECTOR OF WORKS:

The Director of Works shall possess the following qualifications:

1. Must possess a degree in either of the following: Architecture, Engineering,
   Quantity Surveying or in other allied fields and at least ten (10) years
   cognate experience in a tertiary institution.
2.  Must also possess evidence of membership of a Professional body.
3.  Must be computer literate

14. ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

The Administrative officer shall possess the following qualifications:

1. A first Degree in Public / Business Administration or related discipline
2. Extensive knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of
   general administration
3. Excellent project management skills
4.  Excellent team player; ability to work collaboratively with both teaching
   and non-teaching colleagues
5.  A minimum of three (3) Years cognate experience, academic institution
   experience shall be an advantage
6.  Must be computer literate
