The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested three individuals in connection with suspected vote-buying during the ongoing Edo State governorship election.
The arrests occurred around 10:00 AM in the Egor Local Government Area.
Among those apprehended are two men and one woman, believed to be involved in vote-buying activities.
However, their detention has sparked protests from some residents, who claim the suspects are being unfairly targeted.
Today’s election features three leading candidates: Asue Ighodalo from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Monday Okpebholo from the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Olumide Akpata representing the Labour Party (LP).
