38 Polling Units to Be Excluded in Imo State Governorship Election
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the forthcoming governorship election in Imo State, scheduled for November 11, will not be conducted in 38 polling units.
This decision stems from the fact that these units have recorded zero voter registration.
Sylvia Agu, the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Imo State, provided this information during a press conference in Owerri.

Agu revealed that 2,318,919 individuals have collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), while 101,003 people are yet to collect their PVCs ahead of the election.
Agu outlined the election logistics, stating, “The polling units where elections won’t take place are 38.
These are places with zero registration numbers. Election will be held in 4,720 polling units. The total number of polling units is 4,758.”

Regarding staffing, she noted that approximately 21,000 personnel are involved in the election process.
The voting hours will be from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, and results will be collated electronically.
Out of the 13 programs planned by the commission for the election, Agu reported that 11 have been successfully executed, with only two remaining: the last day for campaigns by political parties and candidates (November 9), and the election day itself (November 11).
