Niger Delta Situation Room Condemns Orchestrated Protests Against FCT Minister Wike
The Niger Delta Situation Room (NDSR) has strongly denounced the recent orchestrated protests demanding the resignation of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
Labeling these actions as sponsored by adversaries of Nigeria, the NDSR expressed their condemnation in a statement made available to our correspondent in Port Harcourt.
Reacting to the demonstrations that took place at the National Assembly on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, Senibo Isaac Green, the group’s spokesman, characterized the orchestrators as political opportunists and members of a criminal syndicate responsible for manipulating the FCT and the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).

These elements, as alleged by the NDSR, have been involved in nefarious activities including land racketeering and embezzlement running into billions of naira from the FCT.
The statement highlighted a sense of unease among a specific section of the country, triggered by Minister Wike’s resolute commitment to cleansing the FCT of the corruption and misconduct it has been mired in.
The NDSR emphasized that the minister’s unwavering dedication to the task at hand, combined with his no-nonsense approach, had led to orchestrated campaigns aimed at undermining his efforts.

The group refuted claims made by the protesters suggesting discontent among indigenous people of the FCT regarding land reforms initiated by Minister Wike.
Describing these assertions as unfounded lies, the NDSR emphasized that such sentiments were born out of fear that Wike’s actions would unveil the misdeeds of a cabal involved in land theft from both the indigenes and the government.
Expressing concern, the NDSR questioned the reluctance of security agencies to address the nefarious activities of these individuals and their backers.
