Federal Government Declares September 16 Public Holiday for Eid-ul-Mawlid Celebration.

 

The Federal Government has announced Monday, September 16, 2024, as a public holiday in honor of the Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration, marking the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

 

This announcement was made in a statement by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and reported by Naija News. In his message, the Minister congratulated the Muslim Ummah, both in Nigeria and the diaspora, on the occasion.

Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, conveyed that the Minister encouraged the Muslim Ummah and all Nigerians to embrace patience, sacrifice, and resilience during this period.

Tunji-Ojo also urged Nigerians to use the holiday to pray for enduring peace and the continued prosperity of the nation.
