FG Declares October 1st Public Holiday.

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, October 1, 2024, a public holiday to celebrate Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day anniversary. The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government.

 

In a statement issued on Saturday, Tunji-Ojo extended his congratulations to Nigerians both at home and abroad, commending their resilience and hard work. He reassured the citizens that their sacrifices are recognized and will not be in vain.

The Minister also called for reflection on the efforts of Nigeria’s founding fathers, urging unity as the key to achieving the nation’s goals. “A Nigeria of our dreams can only be built when we unite,” he emphasized.

 

As Nigeria marks 64 years since gaining independence from British rule, the Minister encouraged citizens to remain committed to the ongoing nation-building process, stressing the importance of working together for a brighter future.
