FG meets NLC, TUC over fuel subsidy

A meeting is taking place between a Federal Government team and Organised Labour at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the fuel crisis that is currently affecting the entire country. It will take place in the Chief of Staff’s Conference Room at the Villa.

President Bola Tinubu’s announcement of the end of the fuel subsidy regime during his inaugural speech on Monday has led to hoarding of the product and panic buying.

The Organised Labour in Nigeria is headed by two individuals: Comrade Joe Ajaero, who is the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), and Comrade Festus Osifo, who is the leader of the Trade Union Congress (TUC).

The meeting was attended by several representatives of the Federal Government, including Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the former President of NLC, Tijjani Umar, the Permanent Secretary of State House, Dr. Foldable Yemi-Esan, the Head of Service of the Federation, and Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the NNPCL.
