A delegation from the Federal Government is currently in talks with leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The high-stakes meeting focuses on critical national issues, particularly the ongoing concerns over petrol pricing.
The discussions, hosted by George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), come amid growing unrest from labour unions over the soaring cost of fuel and its economic impact on Nigerians.

Present at the meeting are key government officials, including Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser (NSA); Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, Minister of Labour; and Wale Edun, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy.

Other participants include the Information Minister, the Petroleum Minister, the State Minister of Gas, and representatives from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited.
The outcome of this meeting is anticipated to address the concerns of labour unions and offer possible solutions to the petrol pricing crisis that has sparked nationwide debates.
