FG sacks FAAN MD Capt Yadudu, appoints Mohammed new CEO
Capt Rabiu Yadudu, the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), was fired and immediately replaced by Kabir Yusuf Mohammed on the weekend, less than a week before the end of the Buhari administration.
It was learned that Yadudu’s initial four-year term would expire in a few weeks, and because the government wanted to give others a chance to lead the agency, he was removed from office.
Prior to the promotion of his successor, Kabir Mohammed was the Regional General Manager for the North Central region of FAAN, with an office at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

According to sources who confirmed the news Yadudu’s dismissal is the first in a series of layoffs expected to hit other aviation agencies this week.
The aviation industry was stunned by the new FAAN administrator’s appointment at the end of an administration.
Captain Yadudu was named FAAN medical director four years ago.
Mohammed, his successor, has the requisite public service experience.
From 1992 to 1994, he was employed by the Presidency, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation – General Services Office and Ecological Fund Office.
He worked at State House, Office of the Head of State, Commander-in-Chief (Principal Secretary’s Office 1994 – 1998), as Special Assistant to the Minister of Environment (1999), as Special Assistant to the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (2000), as Personal Assistant to the Chairman, National Fertiliser Company of Nigeria, Port-Harcourt (2001), as Personal Assistant to the Chairman, Frenchies Limited (2002), as Personal Assistant to the Chairman, A & Hatman Limited (2003).

He has participated in (ICAO/ACI) Courses on Air Transport Systems (Gulf Centre for Aviation Studies, Abu Dhabi), Airport Operations Safety and Security, Airport Commercial and Financial Management, and Airport Planning, Development, and Environmental Management. Implementation of an Airport Safety Management System at the GMR Aviation Academy in India. Participated in the Airport Environment Management Course at GCAS Abu Dhabi, UAE to satisfy the prerequisite for certification as an International Airport Professional.
He is a 2007 graduate of the United States Government’s International Visitors Leadership Programme (Transparency and Good Governance). He holds an Airport Executive Leadership certificate from ACI/Concordia University.
The Singapore Aviation Academy also awarded him a Certificate in Integrated Safety Management Systems.
He holds a Management Certificate in Civil Aviation from ICAO/Concordia University, which consists of Certificates in Strategic Management, Human Resources, and Business Strategy. In addition, he holds certifications in Runway Safety Management (ACI) and Airport Business Operations (ACI). Airport User Charges, ACI, and Panama are other certificates.
