Breaking: Former NLC President kidnapped, Details Emerge
A former President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Mr. Takai Shamang, has been kidnapped.
Ejes Gist News reports that the incident happened on Sunday in his hometown of Biniki, located in Kaura Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
Shamang, aged 78, is a well-known labour leader. He served as the president-general of the National Union of Electricity and Gas Workers.

This union is currently known as the National Union of Electricity Employees. His tenure lasted from 1982 to 1989.
The incident was confirmed by his daughter, Mrs. Grace Abbin, on Sunday. She reported that Shamang was abducted from his Biniki residence around 8:00 pm on Friday.
In addition to his labour leadership, Shamang is the founder and President of the Gantys Aid for Widows, Orphans, and Needy Foundation (GAWON Foundation), a philanthropic organization focused on supporting vulnerable groups.
