INEC Releases List Of Kogi Guber Candidates

 

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the official list of candidates for the upcoming November 11 governorship election in Kogi State.

 

The release of the candidates’ personal information is in accordance with INEC’s earlier announcement that it would make such information available to the public.

INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, had previously informed journalists that the personal information of governorship candidates in the states of Imo, Bayelsa, and Kogi would be published.

 

This publication aims to promote transparency and ensure that voters are well-informed prior to a crucial election.

 

The list of candidates released by INEC for the gubernatorial election in Kogi State includes candidates representing various political parties. The Action Alliance candidate was Olayinka Braimoh, with Mr. Simon Ogwu as his running mate.

Similarly, the Hon. Leke Abejide and Dauda Ismaila Onuoroiza were named the candidates for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

 

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chose Senator Dino Melaye as its candidate, and Habibat Mohammed Deen will serve as his running mate. The New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) has selected Mubarak Musa as its candidate, with Tenimu Idris as his running mate.

 

Okeme Adejoh secured the Labour Party nomination, and Ocheja Edogbo Sunday will serve as his running mate. Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo and Suleman A. Abdullahi will run for governor as candidates for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

 

In addition, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) named Sheikh Ibrahim Jibrin as its candidate and Ajodo Damian Monday as his running mate.

INEC would must publish the names of candidates and their running mates in order to foster transparency, encourage civic participation, and enable voters to make informed decisions in the upcoming election.
