The President of the United States, Joe Biden, has named his delegation to attend the inauguration of Bola Tinubu.
Sixty-five world leaders, including heads of state, have been invited to attend the inauguration of Tinubu.
The former governor of Lagos State will be inaugurated as the sixteenth president of Nigeria on May 29 at Eagle Square in Abuja.
Past presidents, diplomats, heads of international organisations, notable Nigerians, and representatives of foreign governments and agencies are also expected to attend the nation’s seventh transition ceremony.
The inauguration ceremonies will commence on Thursday with the investiture of Tinubu as Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic and Kashim Shettima as Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger.
Representatives of Nigeria’s traditional allies, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, China, Germany, Finland, Jamaica, Japan, Israel, Turkey, and a number of other nations, are anticipated to attend the prominent event.

Biden released a statement on the White House website on Monday evening announcing a nine-member delegation for the inauguration.
The delegation will be led by Marcia L. Fudge, the secretary of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The Honourable Judd Devermont, Presidential Assistant and National Security Council Senior Director for African Affairs
The Honourable Monde Muyangwa, Assistant Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Bureau for Africa.
Former Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta will deliver a lecture titled “Deepening Democracy for Integration and Development” on May 27 as part of the inauguration activities.
Other events include the Regimental Dinner in honour of the Commander-in-Chief at the Armed Forces Officers Mess on Tuesday, May 23; the Valedictory Federal Executive Council Meeting in the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa on Wednesday, May 24; the Public Lecture and Juma’at prayer at the National Mosque on Thursday, May 26; the Children’s Day Parade and Party on Friday, May 27; and an Interdenominational Church Service at the National Christian Centre on Sunday, May 28.

In addition, the Inauguration Dinner/Gala Night is scheduled for May 28 at the State House Conference Centre, while the inauguration/swearing-in of the president-elect and vice president-elect will occur on May 29 alongside an inauguration parade at Eagle Square.
The State House Banquet Hall will also host an exclusive post-inauguration luncheon for the President, his fellow Presidents, Heads of Government, and other invited guests.
