Ganduje opens up on why he was absent from New Kano Gov swearing in, says I Skipped Abba Gida-Gida’s Inauguration For Fear Of Violence
Former Kano State governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje stated that he did not attend the inauguration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, also known as Abba Gida-Gida, out of concern for the possibility of violence between their supporters.
Ganduje stated in an interview with newsmen that he has no issues with the new state government.

“There are two aspects to handing over,” he stated. The first is the transfer of documents and information regarding the government’s operations, including completed projects, unfinished projects, and advice for the incoming administration.
“The inauguration is the second factor. If the outgoing and incoming governments are from different political parties, it is not always necessary to attend the inauguration due to the possibility of violence between supporters.”

When asked if he attended Tinubu’s inauguration in order to secure an appointment, Ganduje responded, “I am not here for any appointments, but if I am appointed, I will not decline.
“I am optimistic regarding Tinubu’s presidential run. We will continue to pray for him and support him because he was elected due to his excellent track record.”
Ganduje stated that the rumour of a misunderstanding between him and the new government in Kano was unfounded and that he has a positive relationship with the new government.
