Gbajabiamila resigns 10th House of Representatives membership
Femi Gbajabiamila, the immediate past Speaker of the House of Representatives, resigned from the 10th House after resuming his duties as the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.
On Wednesday, Gbajabiamila presented his resignation letter to Abass and the members of the House on the House floor.
After presenting his resignation letter to the House, Tajudeen Abbas, the new Speaker, read it to the members.
The former Speaker then bowed before the new Speaker and the members before leaving the chamber amid applause and a standing ovation from the legislators.
Throughout his two-decade legislative career in the House, Gbajabiamila held the positions of Minority Leader, Majority Leader, and Speaker.
Before his new appointment, he was reelected to represent the Surulere 1 Federal Constituency in Lagos State. On Tuesday, he was sworn in as a member of the House at the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly.
