Ghanaian Chef Smith has Apologized for Forging Guinness World Record.

Accra, Ghana – On Tuesday, July 2, Chef Smith, a Ghanaian chef known as Millennium Chef, presented a certificate at a press conference, claiming he had set a new world record for a marathon cooking session lasting 820 hours and 25 minutes. The cook-a-thon reportedly started on February 1 and ended on March 6, 2024.

The press conference was held at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra, where Chef Smith proudly displayed his certificate and stated, “Today is the day that I will forever remember. I am humbled and honoured to stand before you today as the Guinness World Record holder.”

However, shortly after announcing his achievement and showcasing his certificate, Chef Smith was arrested. The validity of his record was swiftly debunked by Alina Polianskaya, a PR Executive for Guinness World Records (GWR). In a statement to the BBC, Polianskaya confirmed, “No, this is not true at all. He does not hold the GWR title, and that is not our certificate.

In the wake of this revelation, a video surfaced online showing Chef Smith on his knees, tearfully apologizing for the forgery. Flanked by two women, he expressed deep regret for his actions and the deceit surrounding his claimed record.
