Osun Park Chairman Shot in Police Custody, OSTMS Demands Investigation.
The Osun State Park Management System (OSTMS) has raised concerns following the shooting of its State Chairman, Comrade Nurudeen Iyanda, while in police custody.
In a statement released by the OSTMS State Secretary, Alhaji Mukaila Popoola, the organization disclosed that Comrade Iyanda had been detained late last night over a domestic dispute. However, he was reportedly shot under unclear and troubling circumstances during his detention.
“Our chairman was shot in police custody under circumstances that call for thorough investigations,” the statement read, emphasizing the need for clarity and accountability from law enforcement.
The OSTMS called for calm among its members, urging them to avoid retaliatory actions while the matter is pursued through legal and appropriate channels.
We call on our members not to take laws into their hands. We must maintain peace across the parks while we take the matter up with the appropriate authorities Popoola stated.
