I Am Not Quarrelling With Governor-elect, Fubara – Wike
The outgoing governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has denied social media reports that he and the incoming governor-elect, Siminalaya Fubara, had a disagreement.
There were reports on social media of a confrontation between the governor and the governor-elect, following the latter’s decision to invite the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and other party leaders to his inauguration without the former’s consent.

Wike, speaking on Wednesday at the inauguration of the 250-bed Pamo University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital in Iriebe, Port Harcourt, described the rumour as “baseless.”
Let me state for the record that we are not quarrelling. People have been spreading the rumour that the governor-elect and I are feuding, rather than being pleased with the good work we are doing for the state.
Wike used the occasion to announce the donation of N500 million for the hospital’s smooth launch, stating that Rivers natives who have received a scholarship from the state government will be required to work for the state for a number of years.
