Yahaya Bello debunks dumping Tinubu
Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the governor of Kogi State, refuted rumors that he abandoned Bola Tinubu’s campaign train for the APC’s presidential candidate.
Bello declared on Sunday that his unwavering support for Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, in the 2023 presidential election remained unabated in a post on his verified Facebook page.

The Kogi governor was reportedly said to have dropped the Tinubu campaign, according to reports in some media outlets.
The Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council’s National Youth Coordinator may have been influenced by the outcomes in the North-Central state prior to the November governorship election, according to the report.
Bello refuted this and declared, “Tinubu/Shettima 2023 has 100% of my unwavering support. Godspeed, APC! The Federal Republic of Nigeria is blessed.

The rumor also surfaced just a day or so after a significant figure in the Tinubu-Shettima campaign abandoned the APC.
Tinubu’s presidential campaign team director Naja’atu Muhammad resigned from her position on Saturday.
Naja’atu served as the Director of Civil Society for the APC’s presidential campaign.

The resignation of Naja’atu, who is 67 years old, occurred one month before the presidential election.
In a letter of resignation to APC National Chairman Abdullahi Adamu, she expressed her desire to help save the country rather than continue in party politics and lamented the state of the country.
