Government has lifted embargo on employment.
Sen Bala Mohammed, the state governor, has granted approval for the recruitment of 1,684 new workers into the various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies in the state, barely one week after announcing that the embargo on the employment of civil servants in Bauchi State has been lifted.
The disclosure was made by the State Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Yahuza Adamu Haruna, during a press conference on Tuesday.
He stated that the exercise included the hiring of 1000 teachers in core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and ICT, as well as 154 employees for Aminu Saleh College of Education in Azare.
Yahuza Adamu Haruna also stated that the Governor has given approval for the Ministry of Agriculture to hire 206 Extension workers and Farm Managers in order to fulfil his promise made during the launch of this year’s farming season and fertiliser sales at Azare.

The move came after Governor Bala Mohammed announced the lifting of the employment embargo in his inaugural speech on May 29th at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi.
He praised the Governor for the gesture and expressed hope that the job opportunities would provide the manpower needed in relevant sectors and improve the state’s economic standing.

As a result, the HoS warned applicants to be wary of fraudsters, emphasising that government and security agents would be monitoring the process in order to identify perpetrators.
