Unknown Gunmen Attack Imo Community, Kidnap Late Traditional Ruler’s Wife
Ugoeze Umugborogu, the wife of the deceased traditional ruler of Amuro autonomous community in Okigwe local government area of Imo State, has been abducted by Unknown gunmen.
The gunmen also destroyed the country homes of the ward chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Amuro and his Labour Party (LP) counterpart, Ifediora Umegboroagu.

A villager revealed to Ejes Gist News Nigeria that the abducted Ugoeze Umugborogu is the widow of their late king, Eze Umugborogu.
According to him, the gunmen forcibly abducted Ugoeze from her home and, while fleeing, set APC and LP ward chairmen’s homes on fire.
In addition, he disclosed that Labour Party leader Ifediora Umugboroagu and his family were absent during the incident.
He expressed concern for their safety in the wake of repeated attacks on the people and location, adding that a number of young men have been arrested under the pretext of being members of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

In the past year, the Okigwe local government has been the target of multiple attacks by security agencies attempting to rid forests and communities of gunmen and their activities.
Within a month, a woman was burned to death in Amagu Ihube, and the homes of several prominent APC and LP members were destroyed, including those of Dr. Nnaemeka Obiaraeri, Prof. Nnamdi Obiaraeri, Chief Emeka Okoronkwo, and others.
