Gunmen Burn Imo Police Station
On Tuesday, individuals armed with firearms went on a rampage and set fire to the headquarters of the Afor Atta divisional police in the Njaba Local Government Area of the state.
It had been less than twenty-four hours since the previous attack, in which the vehicle of Ikedi Ohakim, a former governor of Imo State, was bombed, resulting in the deaths of four police orderlies.

According to the information gathered by our correspondent, the assailants threw explosives at the police station. On the other hand, it was reported that there was not a single officer working at the time of the attack.
It was reported that the incident made residents of the community fearful, as evidenced by their decision to remain inside their homes throughout the day.

Our source who pleaded anonymity recalled that the same police station was vandalized in June 2021 after two courts adjacent to it were set ablaze.
CSP Mike Abattam, who serves as the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the state, could not be reached for his reaction on his phone because it was turned off when our correspondent tried to reach him.
In addition, he had not yet issued a statement regarding the incident.
