Unknown Gunmen Kidnap Three in Iwo Local Government Area, of Osun state, Demand N5m

Three people have been kidnapped by unidentified gunmen in Osun State’s Iwo of Iwo Local Government Area.

The kidnappers reportedly demanded N5 million in exchange for their release.

The gunmen who are alleged to have attacked last Friday ambushed the abductees, whose names were given by the state police command as Hamzat Ibrahim, Deere Ibrahim, and an unnamed 38-year-old man.

They were allegedly abducted in their farmland in the local government’s Ologun district.

When speaking with newsmen in Osogbo, one of the state’s hunters said, “Those who were kidnapped are Fulani people; they were in the farm when the kidnappers arrived.”

The hunter claimed that the victim’s family had been contacted by the kidnappers, who demanded a N5 million ransom.

They weren’t the kidnappers’ intended target, but they kidnapped them when their primary target wasn’t reached. Although their target is based in the UK, he has a farm there.

Although the parents of those Fulani people are also well-off, perhaps they were unaware.

The kidnappers have contacted the family to demand ransom, but he said that since they were young, it appeared that they were just starting out in the business.

The state police spokesperson, Mrs. Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident and stated that one Hamidat Ibraheem reported it to the state police.

She said, “The gunmen kidnapped a 38-year-old man, Deere Ibrahim, and Hamzat Ibrahim. To find the victims, our officers are scouring the forest with the help of hunters and other local security agencies.
