Gunmen Attack Anambra: Following an alleged threat letter delivered to the airport authorities by gunmen, the urgency of stepping up security at the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri, in the Anambra-East Local Government Area of the state, has increased.

An anonymous source from the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport told our correspondent that hoodlums’ threat to pull down the entire airport if the order prohibiting work at the airport on Mondays was disobeyed has stopped flight operations and other activities at the airport on Mondays.

Gunmen Attack Anambra 

The insider claimed that after receiving the supposed threat message, airport management asked staff to temporarily refrain from reporting to work on Mondays.

The insider also recalled that a female traveller was attacked by criminals at some point in August of this year, but she escaped unharmed.

The insider also mentioned that a guy had been brutally murdered by thugs along the airport route this year, and that immediate security measures, particularly at night, were required.

Apparently, thugs stop airport employees along the road and forcefully take their luggage and phones from them.

However, the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport was effectively protected by the police and other security agencies, according to DSP Ikenga Tochukwu Anthony, Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Command.
