On Saturday in Lagos, Bello, a lecturer in the Department of Religions and Peace Studies at Lagos State University (LASU), delivered these remarks at the 9th Ramadan Lecture of Anwar-Ul Islam College, Agege, Old Students’ Association (ACAOSA).
“Islamic Perspective on Good Governance: Any Lessons for Nigeria?” was the topic of the guest speaker’s lecture.
Bello stated that the topic was pertinent and necessary due to the fact that every discerning Nigerian was now concerned about the state of the nation.
According to him, on May 29, the nation will have experienced 24 years of continuous democratic rule under the leadership of the PDP and APC, but the question is whether Nigerians have benefited from good governance.
He stated that Nigerians could not be said to have enjoyed good governance in light of their socioeconomic difficulties.
