In a previous statement, the DSS advised Nigerians to take the threat of an interim government seriously.

On May 29, Bola Tinubu is scheduled to be sworn in as president, but those dissatisfied with the outcome of the election have raised concerns.

Mr. Unyime, in proposing the motion, stated that politicians encourage aggrieved individuals to demand “unconstitutional intervention.”

He characterised the transitional government as undemocratic, unconstitutional, and unfamiliar with Nigerian law.

Sergius Ogun urged the SSS to arrest conspirators involved in the plot to impose an interim government on Nigeria in his contribution.

“You are wasting our time by advising us to condemn it. “If this government is cognizant of its responsibilities, this should not even be a topic of discussion in this chamber,” he said.

The Deputy Speaker, Idris Wase, intervened and stated, “Arresting alleged conspirators will cause a political crisis.”

He stated that politicians must unite with security personnel to thwart the plot that threatens Nigeria’s democracy.

“For good reasons, recognise that we are governed by a democratic principle when they mention this; given the situation in which we find ourselves, we must communicate with ourselves to ensure the right action is taken,” he said.

In order to prevent a possible breakdown of law and order, the House instructed security agencies to remain vigilant.
