A tragic incident occurred in Jos, the capital of Plateau State, as an employee of the Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JEDC) was fatally electrocuted while conducting repairs in the Abbatoir area of Jos South local government area.

The deceased, identified simply as Friday, was electrocuted while addressing an electrical fault in the Abbatoir community.
According to an anonymous source from the area, Friday’s demise resulted from the sudden restoration of electricity to the high tension pole he was working on.
The source revealed that Friday was dedicated to his duties, consistently responding to customer calls for fault repairs within his assigned areas.
Expressing sorrow over the incident, another member of the Abbatoir community emphasized Friday’s diligence as a JEDC worker.
Efforts to reach the JEDC Public Relations Officer, Dr. Elijah Adakole, for comment were unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
