Senate President Akpabio Denies Involvement in Abbo’s Election Nullification
The Nigerian Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has refuted allegations linking him to the nullification of the election of Senator Elisha Abbo.
Earlier, it was reported that the Court of Appeal in Abuja nullified the election of Abbo, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Abbo alleged that Akpabio played a role in his removal from the Senate for campaigning against Akpabio’s Senate Presidency ambition.

He further claimed that four other senators who supported Senator Abdulaziz Yari for Senate President were also targeted for removal through the court.
Specifically, Abbo mentioned Senator Orji Uzor Kalu (APC Abia North) as the next target for removal.
However, in response, the media aide to the Senate President, Eseme Eyiboh, stated that Abbo is seeking someone to blame for his removal from the Senate.

Eyiboh emphasized that Akpabio had no involvement in the court’s decision and has no motive to target his colleagues.
Eyiboh explained, “The Court of Appeal across the country decides cases based on the provisions of the Electoral Act and evidence advanced by petitioners. The Senate President has no reason to witch-hunt any of his colleagues.”
