Minister Nyesom Wike Denies Demanding 25% from Rivers Government, Urges Unity
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has refuted allegations claiming that he demanded 25% from the Rivers State government. He dismissed the accusers as misinformed.
Wike made this statement during a visit by a delegation from the Rivers Caucus in the 10th National Assembly, comprising three senators and eleven members of the House of Representatives, in Abuja.
Addressing the accusations, Wike emphasized that he served as the governor of Rivers for eight years and is currently dedicated to his role as FCT Minister.

He clarified, “I am not interested in the governance of Rivers; I am not interested. I am here as a governor in FCT, but I am interested in the political structure of Rivers, which we have built over the years.”
He strongly warned against any attempts to dismantle the political structure established in Rivers, cautioning that such actions would lead to severe consequences for the instigator.
Wike encouraged members of the caucus to work cohesively for the betterment of the people of Rivers.

He assured them that any feedback or advice provided is intended to ensure the continued progress and success of the state.
Reflecting on the challenges faced as an opposition party since 2015, Wike expressed gratitude for the support received.
He emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration within the political structure to withstand external pressures.
