The electoral board was required to continue voter registration up until 90 days before the election by the Federal High Court in Abuja.
After receiving a summons from Anajat Salmat and three other parties, who claimed that the electoral Commission could not halt the CVR in violation of the applicable constitutional laws, the court handed down its decision.
On Tuesday, Justice Inyang Ekwo ruled that it was the electoral body’s constitutional duty to make sufficient arrangements for the exercise in accordance with Nigerian law.
