Nigerians to get their PVCs between Dec. 12, Jan. 22 — INEC

Barr. Festus Okoye, the National Commissioner of INEC in charge of the Information and Voter Education Committee, said in a statement that the Commission met on Thursday, 1st December 2022, and deliberated on a number of issues, including the dates for the collection of Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) nationwide.

From the 28th of November to the 2nd of December in 2022, the Commission held a retreat in Lagos with all of the Administrative Secretaries and Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) from the 36 States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory.

“During the retreat, the Commission reached a consensus on the process to be followed and the schedule to be followed in order to collect PVCs.

As a result, “the Commission has consequently fixed Monday, December 12, 2022 to Sunday, January 22, 2023 as the dates for the collection of PVCs in all 774 Local Government Offices of the Commission throughout the Federation,” he stated.

The Commission also decided to hand over responsibility for the collection of PVC to the 8,809 Registration Areas/Wards beginning on Friday, January 6 and continuing through Sunday, January 15, 2023.
