The Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Michael Freeman, has accused Iran of orchestrating attempts to destabilize the West African region, with a specific focus on Nigeria.

His comments came during a presentation in Abuja marking the first anniversary of the October 7th, 2023 massacre of Israelis by Hamas.

Freeman also highlighted concerns over escalating insecurity in Nigeria, alleging that Iran’s influence extends beyond the Middle East and into Africa’s most populous nation.

According to the Ambassador, there are deliberate efforts by Iran to incite instability, posing a growing threat to regional security.

The Israeli government’s confidence in receiving robust support from the United States has been bolstered by the election of Donald Trump as the 47th President.

Trump’s previous tenure saw a strong pro-Israel stance, and his return to the White House is expected to further solidify U.S.-Israeli relations, especially in the context of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Freeman concluded by expressing gratitude to Israel’s allies, particularly the United States, for their continued support. He emphasized the importance of securing the release of hostages held by Hamas and the need for new leadership in the Gaza Strip.

In a related development, sources from Israel have reportedly named Femi Fani-Kayode (FFK), Nigeria’s former Minister of Aviation, as one of the individuals allegedly collaborating with Iranian interests and groups like Hamas in Nigeria.

Fani-Kayode’s recent posts on X (formerly Twitter) have included statements perceived as supportive of Hezbollah and Hamas while criticizing Israel.
