Former Kaduna State Senator and a human rights activist, Shehu Sani has begged the Labour Party vice-presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, not to debate with Wole Soyinka.

In a message on his verified Twitter account, the former lawmaker made this known. He said Datti should not debate with Soyinka, adding that in Africa, it’s improper to debate with elders, no matter how unpalatable comes their words.

Datti should not debate with Soyinka; In Africa,it’s improper to debate with elders, no matter how unpalatable comes their words.Kongi is our national asset even if his views differs from yours.But if Datti wants to debate with Lai it’s ok, he’s employed & paid to talk & talk.”

 

Recall that the Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka had challenged Baba-Ahmed to an interview on Channels Television over the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.

 

But reacting in an interview with Arise TV on Saturday, the Spokesperson of the Obi-Datti Movement, Prof Chris Nwakobia, stated that Peter Obi supporters, known as the Obidients, will be able to debate Soyinka.

Daring Soyinka to attend the TV debate, Nwakobia said Baba-Ahmed would take up a debate with Soyinka.
