The former governor of Abia state made the claim while using the phrase “Emi Lokan” associated with Bola Tinubu, the President-elect, in an interview ahead of the February 25 presidential election.

In a video shared on Twitter by Daily Trust, the two-term governor of Abia state made the claim while speaking to journalists at the national assembly on March 21.

The senator-elect then urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) to allocate the tenth senate seat in the Abia north senatorial district to his village in Igbere.

According to him, based on his position as the 9th Senate’s Chief Whip, he was the highest-ranking senator from the southeast and deserved the position.

He stated that his first, middle, and last names would be team Nigeria and added that he is the only governor who has not changed his phone number in the 24 years since he became governor.

He will be willing to keep the number active and answer all of his calls.

He said:

“I am not going to switch off my phone because I am the next senate president, no, but I am hoping that Nigerian people will pray for me to be senate president because it is my turn.”
