During the 2022 and 2023 batches of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, 178 incidences of malpractice were discovered.
This is according to information obtained on Monday from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.
According to the data, 94 cases were discovered during the 2022 UTME, while 84 cases were discovered in 2023.
JAMB defined the malpractices as “multiple registrations, manipulation of biometrics, collusion of some private CBT centres with parents, impersonation, deliberate disruption of the examination process, and syndicate of adjacent centres in examination.”

Furthermore, the exam body stated, “Private school operators aid and abet examination malpractice.” There is an ongoing need to monitor the operations of private school operators.”
