From the 2024 UTME and DE exercise onwards, the board will collect the approved N700 registration fee on behalf of the various Computer Based Test (CBT) Centres, along with its UTME registration fees, and remit whatever is due to each registration centre weekly.

Check Your Eligibility

Candidates should check their eligibility for the programmes and institutions of their choice at https://www.jamb.gov.ng. Choose quick link, then ibass.jamb.gov.ng.

Before starting the application process, candidates should double-check the requirements. Candidates can use the eligibility checker to find programs (courses) that match their qualifications.

There will be no double registration.

Obtaining two application form in the same year is, in fact, a punishable offense. Registrations that are duplicated or multiple are subject to cancellation and prosecution.

Candidates are not permitted to register more than once, according to the Board. However, the Board stated that if a candidate makes an error during the registration process, they must seek correction from the Board rather than submitting a new application, as doing so would result in sanctions.

JAMB Creation Of Profile

For the registration process, each Candidate would need to use a unique phone (mobile) number (SIM). Only one candidate can use the unique phone number. Candidates should keep in mind that their unique identification number (SIM) will be used for all transactions with the Board. See this How To Create JAMB Online Profile: The Best Guide

Jamb Registration Requirements For 2024

From his or her personal GSM number, the candidate will text his or her National Identification Number (NIN) to either 55019 or 66019. For example, write the word ‘NIN’, space it, and then add your 11-digit NIN Number to 55019 or 66019 in this format (NIN 00123456789).

There should be a space between the word ‘NIN’ and your 11-digit NIN (Note that the number cannot have previously been used to register for the UTME/DE).

Candidates should avoid using Postpaid or special bundle packages because they do not work unless they have been loaded with credit.

On the same phone (SIM) number, the candidate will receive a 10-character Profile Code.
The text message’s phone (mobile) number is automatically linked to the candidate’s name and will be used in all subsequent communication with that candidate.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) advises candidates to take note of and remember the sim-number used, stating that it is critical for subsequent communication with the board.

How to register for Jamb using USSD and Jamb portal online for free

Any candidate who has obtained the UTME/DE application form has agreed to receive text messages from JAMB (55019 or 66019) even if the “do not disturb” setting is turned on.

At the time of application document procurement from Banks, MMOs, MFBs, Switches, and USSD Partners, the candidate will present the profile code. An ePIN is then sent to the candidate’s phone via text message.

Registration is complete, but there is no need to submit a passport photograph.

For registration, the candidate must present the Profile code and ePIN to any JAMB-accredited CBT Center.

The Board stated that the application would not be complete unless the candidate’s biometrics (all ten fingers) were captured and a physical photograph was taken (No submission of passport photograph).

After successfully capturing biometrics and a photograph, a candidate will be able to print his or her registration slip. Any subsequent transaction with JAMB on the candidate’s profile will require the fingerprint.

Only those candidates whose biometric verification is successful on the day of the examination will be allowed to take the UTME.
