Festus Keyamo (SAN), the spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council, filed a lawsuit against Atiku for a new corruption allegation.
On January 16, Keyamo gave the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC) 72 hours to arrest the presidential candidate of the opposition.
In a petition dated January 16, Keyamo, who is also the junior minister for Labour and Employment, requested that the anti-corruption agencies arrest the former vice president for money laundering, violation of the code of conduct for public officers, conspiracy, criminal breach of trust, and misappropriation.
He based his petition and lawsuit on allegations made by Michael Achimugu, who claimed to be the PDP candidate’s former assistant.

In a series of social media posts, Achimugu accused Atiku of committing fraud with Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs).
Keyamo stated that Achimugu provided substantial evidence to substantiate his claims against PDP candidate and former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
With the expiration of the deadline and no action taken by anti-corruption agencies by January 19, Keyamo filed his lawsuit on January 20 in Abuja’s Federal High Court.
