Adegboyega Oyetola’s administration appointed Shittu, who wrote in his letter that he struggled with “operational challenges thrown up by the enemy within the top hierarchy of the Corp due to military intrigues, vainglory, and egoism” while in office.
“As a man of conscience and by the everlasting grace of Almighty Allah, I give thanks to God for giving me the strength to carry the responsibility of the agency from the first day of my appointment as the first Director General and head of Amotekun in Osun State, it continued in the letter.
I will always be grateful to Governor Gboyega Oyetola, the most recent Executive Governor of Osun State, for his trust in me and for giving me the freedom to do my part to advance the state’s security.
Shittu’s resignation was confirmed by the state’s Corps spokesperson, Idowu Yusuf, who chose not to elaborate further.
