Zamfara PDP expels 2023 governorship aspirant
Ibrahim Shehu, a candidate for governorship in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State, has been kicked out of the party for what are alleged to be anti-party activities.
According to the letter of expulsion that was signed by the Honorable Aliyu Hassan, who served as the party secretary for the Mayana Ward, Shehu was kicked out of the party for engaging in activities that were against the party’s 2017 amended constitution, specifically Article 58(1) (a), (b), and (c).

According to the letter, the Mayana Ward Working Committee of the party came to the conclusion that the decision should take effect in January 2023.
Recall that Ibrahim Shehu was twice the person responsible for the party’s governorship primary election being declared invalid.

The attempts made by our correspondent to get a response from Ibrahim Shehu, who served as a member of the Federal House of Representatives from 2011 to 2015, were all in vain.

In the meantime, the state chapter of the party has asserted that it is unaware of the development, stating that it has not been officially notified by the ward, and that the allegations made against Shehu will be properly investigated before any action is taken.
