The expulsion of Udengs Eradiri is attributed to his alleged violation of the party’s codes of conduct. Zidougha, in his announcement, revealed that the state LP leadership reached this unanimous decision after receiving information about Eradiri’s purported illegal activities following the governorship polls.
The state chairman cautioned the public against engaging with Eradiri and the ward chairmen, emphasizing the party’s commitment to maintaining integrity.
Zidougha stated, “After the party primaries and the governorship election on November 11, 2023, the state executive council has unanimously agreed that Mr. Udengs Eradiri be expelled.”
He reassured party members that the expulsion aimed to strengthen the party for future challenges, advising the public to refrain from any dealings with the ousted local government chairmen or Mr. Udengs Eradiri on behalf of the Labour Party.

In response, Eradiri dismissed Zidougha’s authority, labeling him an “acting factional chairman of the party” and contending that the party’s constitution did not grant such powers to Zidougha.
As tensions rise within the state leadership of the party, the aftermath of this expulsion is likely to impact the political landscape in Bayelsa.
