Lagos LP Governorship candidate reacts to the burning of Igbo Spare Parts Market

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate, has expressed sadness over the burning of  Akere Spare Parts Market on Kirikiri Road, Akere Bus Stop, Olodi-Apapa in Ajegunle on Wednesday morning.

 

In a tweet, Rhodes-Vivour said it breaks his heart to see this happening in Lagos, adding that it must stop.

The LP Lagos Governorship candidate, who visited the scene, also described the act as tragic.

 

“I am on the ground in Akere Market, Ifelodun, to assess the damage done by an arsonist and political thugs,” Rhodes-Vivour tweeted.

“This is extremely unfortunate. Our should be based on ideas rather than violence.

“Do not be afraid, Ajegunle people. We will all work together to rebuild.  Lagos is built on harmony and cooperation; it is a centre of excellence; despicable violence and fanning ethnic tensions have no place in this beautiful state.

“After the elections, we will all have to live together in Lagos. No political ambition is worth our people’s lives or livelihoods.

 

 

“No place should be threatened or destroyed because of different political views. It breaks my heart to witness this in Lagos; it must stop.
