LP appoints Hilda Dokubo as caretaker chairman for Rivers
Comrade Julius Abure, National Chairman of the Labour Party, has appointed Hilda Dokubo to lead a three-person Steering Committee for the Rivers State chapter of the party for one month.
This information was contained in a letter signed by Abure, a copy of which was seen by Ejes Gist News Nigeria on Thursday in Abuja.
The appointment of the Dokubo-led panel followed the expiration of the three-month term of the Mr. Deinye Pepple-led Rivers State Labour Party Caretaker Committee and its subsequent dissolution by the appropriate authority.
Hilda Dokubo is the chairman of the Steering Committee, Pastor Philip Nyechi Loveday is the secretary, and Mr. Gogo Wellington is the publicity secretary.
The immediate task of the Committee, according to the party, is to ensure the victory of Comrade Beatrice Itubo, the Gubernatorial Candidate of the Labour Party in Rivers State, and all of its House of Assembly candidates in the March 18 election.
Abure exhorted “all Obidients and Labour Party members to cooperate with them in the performance of their duties to ensure our unity, which will lead to our victory in the upcoming election.”
