Emphasizing the need for a robust opposition, Peter Obi pledged that the LP would keep the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on its toes to safeguard the interests of Nigerians.

Addressing economic concerns,  Peter Obi stressed the urgent need for a turnaround, citing rising unemployment, inflation, poverty, and inequality. He urged consistent demands for good governance, inclusive development, and accountable leadership in a functional democracy.

Obi voiced his worry about the undermining of national institutions and the concentration of power in the hands of a few individuals. He emphasized the importance of respecting the separation of powers among the three arms of government and the federating units in a democratic and secular country.

Warning against the drift towards a one-party state, Obi underscored the Labour Party’s commitment to opposition, emphasizing the party’s obligation to nation-building.
