Man Stabs Pastor Over Fake Prophesy In Lagos

 

Akpannu, a 26-year-old man, was arrested in Lagos State for allegedly stabbing a pastor with a machete for allegedly giving him a false prophecy.

 

Ejes Gist News Nigeria gathered that Prophet Anayochukeu, the pastor of one of the new generation churches, was allegedly murdered by the accused in May 2023 for allegedly giving him a false prophecy.

The incident reportedly occurred at the church’s headquarters in the Ijesha neighbourhood of Lagos.

During a prayer session, the pastor allegedly told the defendant that he was about to lose his sister unless certain prayers were performed.

 

The accused stated that a pastor told him that in order to be successful in business, he needed to perform a spiritual cleansing that required him to purchase coconut and dry gin for prayer.

As a result of his anger over the earlier prophecy, which he claimed did not come true, he attacked the second pastor with a knife inside the church.

 

The incident was reported to the police, who tracked the suspect to his hiding place and arrested him.

 

While at the police station, the defendant claimed that both pastors instilled him with fear by delivering false prophecies that his only sister would pass away in January 2023.
