In Katsina State’s Rimi and Kurfi Local Government Areas, about 1,500 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters switched to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The PDP Women Leader in the Area had also crossed over into the APC, Makwalla revealed while introducing the people to the APC officials in the state.

This political development occurred on Thursday as Dr. Dikko Umaru Radda, the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) candidate for governor in Katsina State, finished his campaign tour in the district’s Rimi and Kurfi local governments.

Additionally, Dr. Radda gave three motorcycles to the Wurma Community Vigilantes in Kurfi Local Government Area of the State and five motorcycles to members of the vigilante in Rimi Local Government Area. He claimed that this was his modest contribution to helping them combat insecurity in the areas.

“I am aware that some dishonest individuals will approach you and accuse APC of failing to provide security for you. Dr. Radda issued a warning to Kurfi residents, saying, “You should respond by asking them to account for the sizeable sum of money made available to them in more than seven years to tame insecurity without success.

In exchange, Radda received a gift of the Holy Qur’an, a ram, and a horse from the village chief of Kaanani in the Rimi Local Government Area.

Similarly, the Village Head of Tsauri village in the Kurfi Local Government Area gave Dr. Radda a sword and a copy of the Holy Qur’an as gifts.

Before becoming governor, Dr. Radda had been urged to keep in mind the communities in Rimi that lacked access to electricity, water, or roads. The district head of Rimi, Alhaji Aminu Nuhu Abdulkadir, had earlier made the request.
