1) Abba was born in the Tudunwada Local Government Area of Kano State on June 22, 1965.
2) His first degree is from Bayero University in Kano.
3) Abba attended the Nigeria Police Academy in Kaduna State and was commissioned as a police officer in 1992.
4) Following Ibrahim Magu’s suspension on July 6, 2020, he served as acting chairman of the EFCC. Abba handed over the chairmanship to Abdulrasheed Bawa on February 24, 2021, seven months later.

5) He is a Police Commissioner.
6) Abba was assigned to the Commission in January 2016 to lead the CTGI Section at the Commission’s Abuja headquarters.
