Mysterious Snake kills notorious ISWAP Commander in Sambisa forest
A notorious leader of the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP), widely known as Kiriku, reportedly passed away after being bitten by a venomous snake in Borno State’s Sambisa forest.
The unfortunate incident occurred, and Kiriku succumbed to his injuries three days later.

Reports indicate that Kiriku sustained two snake bites from a highly venomous brown snake while hiding in one of their hideouts located at Agikur Mosque in Damboa Local Government Area. His demise took place on June 23, 2023.
Sources suggest that the lack of access to medical treatment contributed to the demise of this infamous ISWAP Commander.

Kiriku operated as one of the Commanders within the Jiddari axis of Chiralia in the Timbuktu triangle. He was notorious for leading numerous attacks and ambushes against the troops of Operation Hadin Kai along the road from Maiduguri to Damboa.
