Pastor Frank Onwumere, who is said to be the person who wrote a controversial petition against Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, has denied writing the letter and said he has never met the former governor of Anambra State.
A petition circulating on social media asserts that Obi gave $2 billion to churches through the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to encourage their congregations to vote for him in the 2023 general election.
In response to the claim, Onwumere said that the fake document was made by his “enemies.”
He is quoted as saying, “I know nothing about it (the petition).”
“I have traversed the entirety of Imo State without locating the perpetrator. I even do not own a church. I have never met Peter Obi before.
