EFCC arrests popular Ilorin cleric, 27 others for alleged Yahoo Yahoo
On Thursday, in Ilorin, Kwara State, agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested 28 individuals suspected of being internet scammers, also known as “Yahoo-Yahoo Boys.”
In a statement sent to Ejes Gist News Nigeria by Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC Spokesperson, the anti-corruption agency explained that the arrest in Mandate Area, Ilorin was the result of actionable intelligence on the activities of fraudsters operating in the area.

It reads: “A preliminary investigation revealed that among the arrested suspects were a cleric, twin brothers, six students from various institutions, and a mining operator, among others.”
“They are Toheeb Albarka, a cleric; Lambe Kehinde and Lambe Taye, twin brothers; Francis Stephen, Olabode Yusuf, and Musbaudeen Akorede, dog sellers; Moshood Okunola, Kayode Aderemi, Ayobami Olorunfemi, Paul Ayomide, Agboola Marvellous, and Adebisi Olabisi, all undergraduates; and Musbaudeen
Olaleye Solomon, a miner; Akinade Samuel, a computer technician; Damilola Shagaya, a real estate developer; Muhammed Awal, a graphic designer; Adam Mubarak, an anti-money-laundering analyst; Ogundiran Nathaniel, a tiler; Jamiu Ishola, a printer; Dauda Tunde, a plumber; Abdullahi Sikiru, a Bet 9ja worker.
“Adedamola Samson, Olarewaju Adisa Taofeek, Adewale Oloro, and Omogbolahan Ibrahim are others.”
“Among the items recovered from the suspects are ten cars, various brands of laptops, cell phones, and a printer.”
“The suspects will be arraigned in court once the ongoing investigations are concluded.”
