Nigerian Army Releases Security Phone Numbers For Citizens Amid Attack Speculations

The Nigerian army has provided residents with a security phone number amidst Terror Alert.

This online newspaper reports that the Nigerian Army provided phone numbers on Special Call Centers for citizens to report information on security risks in response to predictions of coming terrorist attacks in Abuja.

The Army made its decision in response to travel warnings issued by some foreign nations over the possibility of terrorist strikes in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and some high-risk states.

Last Sunday, the US Embassy issued a statement stating that it will provide less services until further notice and advising Americans to forgo any unnecessary travel.

The United Kingdom also warned its residents in Nigeria to be cautious with their movements in a warning issued that same Sunday by its Embassy in Abuja.

The Australian government, on its part, on Wednesday urged its nationals to reevaluate the necessity of visiting Nigeria.

Authorities from Denmark, Bulgaria, Germany, Ireland, Canada, and five other countries also issued separate security alerts, urging their citizens present in the nation to exercise caution and avoid certain locations and activities.

The Army provided a few figures to the public on Friday via his verified Twitter account, claiming that the information would assist its officers respond to security threats in all areas of the nation rapidly.
